Ila Malù was founded in 2009 by three young design graduates from the Politecnico di Milano with a clear desire: to find their own way of expressing themselves, and to do it together.
Ilaria, Martina, Lucia. Ila Ma Lù.
The name said it all: a shared identity, three complementary personalities, a common project that over time has taken different forms in accordance with individual and group evolutions.
Events are where it all began and, since then, they have been our most complete form of expression. After a few years, the concept stores—two recognizable and nationally renowned spaces, deeply loved—were the chapter in which we gave physical form to our entire world: the objects we chose, the spaces we created, the people we attracted.
Then a further evolution, the desire for a renewed lightness, brought us back to our origins, with fifteen more years of experience.
Today Ila Malù is an independent creative studio specializing in event design & production, styling, visual, and set design. We work on corporate events, weddings, parties, and concept stores throughout Italy, with clients from all over the world.
We work with a tailored approach and a passion for the stories hidden behind every person or brand: every project is born from listening, develops through detail, and expresses itself in the experience. What we create reveals itself slowly; it is felt and experienced.
Designing is our vocation. Spreading beauty and lightness is our mission.

Our all-female team consists of three founding partners and an operational team of project managers, designers, and coordinators who follow every project through all its phases: from the creative process—from the birth of the concept to production and setup—to the organizational process, which includes vendor management, budgeting, and event direction.
The partners lead the studio at a creative, strategic, and production level, supervising every project at its key moments and ensuring consistency, quality, and vision. The operational team supports this process in daily management, project development, and the practical realization of events.
Our strength lies in having clear roles and defined responsibilities, yet cross-functional skills that allow us to support one another and intervene where needed. We are structured, yet flexible.

Le origini
La laurea in design degli interni al Politecnico di Milano delle founder di Ila Malù, Ilaria, Martina e Lucia, compagne di università, accomunate dalla passione per gli allestimenti e le scenografie e dalla voglia di trasformare tutto questo in un business.

Ila Malù
Prende già forma la natura eclettica della realtà di Ila Malù, che firma i suoi primi matrimoni e contemporaneamente lancia sul mercato una linea di bigiotteria in Macramè che offrirà l’occasione di cominciare ad immaginare l’apertura di un concept store.

Il primo concept store
Apre il primo concept store, a Brescia, nel quale raccontare, attraverso la selezione dei brand, le proprie passioni. Il Design lab Concept store è anche l’ufficio in cui continuare a progettare i matrimoni: Ila Malù diventa una realtà sempre più riconoscibile e riconosciuta.

La nuova casa
Lo stile degli eventi di Ila Malù viene sempre più richiesto. Il Concept store si espande per dare spazio a tutto ciò che appassiona le founder. Ila Malù si trasferisce in una nuova casa, più grande, pronta ad accogliere i nuovi progetti, non solo matrimoni.

Apertura a Bergamo
Il concept store di Ila Malù apre una seconda sede a Bergamo. A Brescia, la crescita dell’azienda, richiede un ampliamento ulteriore, e gli uffici e il concept store si trasferiscono nuovamente, nella sede più iconica della storia di Ila Malù.

MeWe
Nasce MeWe, il brand di make-up firmato Ila Malù che diventa un manifesto del concetto di bellezza delle founder.

2023
Ampliamento
Il concept store di Bergamo si allarga. Contemporaneamente cresce il numero di eventi firmati Ila Malù. I concept store cominciano a integrare proposte di servizi, per diventare più completi.

2025
For eclectic daydreamers
L’anno della svolta. Ila Malù decide di lasciare il mondo del retail e ritornare alle origini concentrando il business sui servizi (matrimoni, eventi corporate, allestimenti), senza perdere la naturale propensione delle founder verso il design e la ricerca, attraverso collaborazioni con i brand volte alla creazione di capsule collection, o oggetti firmati Ila Malù.
